how pathetic are some people…

May 27, 2007

and they wonder why their kids turn out like they did. well, let’s see…

so you come across a “coach” bag at a flea market, thinking it’s real and that you’re getting an awesome deal. hmm… the guy had them apparently hidden in boxes and they’re like $40 - if that’s not a dead giveaway, i don’t know what is. yet you become almost obsessed w/ getting more of this “coach” stuff - from local consignment shops (which i find inconsistencies on) and even go as far to go back down to this flea market cause you want more items. (and this type of person is the one who wonders why their kids will only wear clothes from specific stores. hmm. can’t imagine where they got THAT from.)

people wonder why i hate brands like abercrombie so much. it’s because my life doesn’t revolve around trying to prove social status through having brand names everywhere. if people are supposed to think better of you because they think you have a coach purse… well, my mom thinks it’s silly. i just think it’s disgusting.

(disclaimer: i have two coach purses from coach outlets in MI and SC. ONE spring/summer and ONE fall/winter purse and THAT’S IT. i spent 4-5 weeks trying to locate a brown purse w/ silver hardware before i found ONE @ birch run. why silver? because i hate gold and bronze.)

and MI has reached a new low

May 25, 2007

or in this case, i guess you can say it’s a new high.

we’re now officially #1 for gas prices in the US - passing hawaii today. what the heck is going on?!

and for the record, at the beginning of this week, we hit $3.65 - yes, i’m serious.

since flickr servers appear to be hiccuping at the moment, you can find my pics here as well.

edit 5/14 - so it turns out i was WAY behind on the code that runs my gallery. that’s been fixed now, so the photos can be viewed through my site’s gallery again

a gas boycott? oh give me a break

May 3, 2007

that’s all we hear about on the news besides people whining about how much gas jumped to yesterday… that whoever wants to stage a boycott. and obviously these wannabe-boycott ringleaders don’t have a clue that their “brilliant idea” won’t do a dang thing.

ok, so you don’t buy gas on (random date, or 3 day span, or whatever). but you’ll have to buy it on ANOTHER date instead. how does that solve one single thing? *ding ding ding* IT DOESN’T!

if you want to do something worthwhile… how about organizing a carpool day? or public transportation day?

google sms.. this is kinda cool!

i tested this out w/ my phone and it worked. might be worth having programmed into your phone instead of needing something like 411 :-)
