i’m such a fan of the USPS

sometimes, the us postal service misses completely.

probably 2 weeks ago, we got a card in the mail we weren’t expecting. see, it was addressed to (same house # and street as us) lane… our address is (# and street name) drive. but there was another small issue as well.

the city on the envelope? canton, massachusetts. ours? grandville, michigan.

the USPS managed to botch that card’s transport by 853.5 miles, if you go through canada (according to mapquest).

so out it went in the mailbox the next day with a “wrong address!” post-it note on there. before we put it out, my mom wrote on the back of the envelope “happy holidays from (address), grandville MI - where your card ended up first”. two days later, the card was back in our mailbox.

apparently they never learn… so off my mom went to the post office to have a teller deal with it.

we haven’t seen it again. hopefully the family it was intended for finally got their card!
