east GR… lmao
February 8, 2006first, a bit of background on EGR.
according to the “limited edition barbies for the metro grand rapids market” email i got from one of my friends, here’s the description:
East Grand Rapids Barbie:
This yuppie Barbie comes with a choice of a BMW sports car or an H2. Included is her Starbucks cup, credit cards, and country club membership. Also available for this set are Shallow Ken and Private School Skipper.
which is why i find this so absolutely hilarious. (yes, i think you can tell i’ve never been a fan of that city/school district and their elitist mentality.)
“About 20 East Grand Rapids High School students face discipline for drinking alcohol, busted by an unexpected source — their Web pages.” (the full article)
and to prove even further how completely clueless students there are, this followup article was in the GR press today…
“Dance boycott threatened over booze blog suspensions” (full article here)
do they seriously think anyone related to the school system will care if this is how they’re “pseudo-protesting”? you were stupid, you got caught… and now you’re whining like a bunch of kindergardners because of it.
give me a break. (and let me keep laughing.)
(update: 2/10)
oh look, it’s another one. parents mindlessly backing up their kids… let’s put them up for parents of the year!
seriously. common sense 101 for a minute people. i wonder WHY the person who brought this all up isn’t having their name disclosed… probably because they don’t want their life made miserable by retaliation!
One Response to “east GR… lmao”
These kids feel that they have a right to privacy, yet they put it all out there for all to see. There was a group aquinas girls who did the same thing and when they were confronted about it, they apologized more for putting the stuff up, than they did for throwing an underages drinking party. Calvin student became angry when they found out that the dean of students was reading their blogs.
I dont get how these people feel that these blogs are off limits for certain people.
My wifes sister has a blog, if you google her name it comes up first. A good deal of what she writes would not be good for a future employer to see.
