nothing spectactular to report

October 20, 2005

back from vacation. it had more downs than ups, but that’s a long story that i’m not getting into here (even though i decided to and then changed my mind a good 20 times this week alone!).

work is going respectably well at the moment, especially since i got a decent (13%) raise a few weeks ago. switched my savings acct over to a money market account, so i’m not getting something like 0.4% interest anymore (thank goodness! it was pathetic)… and with the raise, now i can either put more toward my 401(k) or open a roth IRA or something like i’ve wanted to do. (i swear, i think i’m one of the very few people my age that i know that care so much about a retirement account already! thank you suze orman for that. lol)

found a great apartment complex, for details on that IM me… i have my reasons for not posting any details about it here.

not a lot going on other than that. glad to have hockey back of course, picked up another (small) freelance job through a designer at my office, and i’m also considering joining the ymca so i can start working out (a few of my coworkers already are members)… i’m starting to think i’ll become a cow this winter if i don’t be careful… i’ve been fairly lucky so far, but my luck can only last so long!

  3. Personally, I proud as all get out you’re taking care of the retirement right now. Shows you got your act together. Been telling you that for a long time already. As far as IM, haven’t seen you on in years. Just kiddin’. On this end, still cleaning up the aftermath of Katrina. Very tired of cutting up fallen trees & burning debris. I cut & burned seven trees so far, have 9 more to go. Over fifty Nissan truck loads of limbs in trash. Still have one stuck in the roof of my carport and duct tape holding the siding on my chimney.

I hope you join the YWCA instead of the YMCA if you get my drift.

Glad to hear the vacation was great. Drop a line every now & then & let the ole man know you’re okay.
