another “interesting” free concert…

duncan sheik. i swear, by the end of the show (well, at least as long as i stayed - left that one early too!) i was calling him duncan freak. however, american accent sounded really good, so going to the concert was worthwhile.

not much is going on, as usual. yesterday at work, i spent a good chunk of the day setting up my new machine (a laptop finally!), which has got to be the biggest waste of time ever… at least it should be set now - i think.

GR in general is on my nerves to no end. whether it’s idiotic drivers, egotistical dumb people in general, the fact that most people think upper 80’s/low 90’s is unbearably hot… i don’t know what’s going on, but i’m getting quite good at either going off at the smallest thing or wanting to physically hurt someone… lol

i don’t know if it’s related to that, but i’ve been quite inspired lately to add to my “apartment stash”. i don’t know if i’ve mentioned it much before really, but last summer, i started stocking up on basically everything i’ll need for an apartment, and putting it in what used to be our home office in the basement. i pretty much have a full kitchen (including a dinette set), at least half of a bathroom, parts of a living room and other random things - plus everything for my bedroom (which i use now). i’ve spent about $1k so far since last year, and have at least another $1k to go (don’t have a couch yet, but at least finally i’m pretty sure about what i’ll end up getting the couch is now on order… yay!). on one hand it’s been a pain (especially couch shopping - i think i’ve been to 15-20 furniture stores now!), but on the other, when i move i won’t be forced to go “warp-speed” shopping to get absolutely everything i need and not be able to be as picky as to what i get.

who knows… the “getting annoyed at the drop of a hat” stuff may be related to the fact that by this time last year, i had gone on long-weekend vacations twice and this year i haven’t gone anywhere. i’m going to have 7 days left of extra vacation time this year, even after i use 7 days when we go to SC in october! anyone want me to come visit? just kidding.
