yes, i’m slacking again

but this time i have more of an excuse… it’s because work has been crazy and i’ve been getting sick almost daily since monday due to, as far as i can guess, stress! it’s not fun… and it can end any day now!

other than that, not a ton has been going on - at least, anything exciting. last weekend i finished up suze orman’s latest book, and i’ve decided that she’s got some very good ideas that i can use. (between that and her show, which i watch if i get a chance, i should be better off with my 401(k) and other things! never mind the fact that her show’s a prime example of how literally STUPID people can be with their money…)

and for the record, i finally decided on a new digital camera. only 4 months of research later…. lol. i ended up with a panasonic dmc-fz20, which should easily last me a few years. especially if i can really learn how to use the manual controls in it…

let’s see… back to work. to summarize, well, it’s been crazy. two weeks ago, we had one week to implement a huge search engine optimization project for our biggest client, which meant a few days of working overtime. and then this past week (and this week will be the same), one of the guys who works for our biggest client that posts press releases and does text edits and all that is out on military training.. so i’ve been covering all of that stuff. meaning 4 of 5 days where i didn’t get out of the office on time, either.

hmm… what else?

a lot has been getting on my nerves lately, i guess you could say.

first off, there’s the whole mess with the dealership that my parents got their new car from. see, 3 weeks ago my parents traded in the SUV to get a car… and this week we got a call from the bank that the lease was through saying that my parents hadn’t made the payment. well of course not, they had traded it in a week and a half before the next payment was due! so my mom immediately put a call into the dealership asking what the heck was going on, and in the meantime my parents started thinking that worst-case, we’d need a lawyer…. later that day, my parents went down to the dealership (after no one bothered to call us back) to raise a little heck. well the dealership claims the check was written and the bank’s holding it for 10 days… we’ll see.

secondly, there’s all the crap on the news about the grand rapids public schools and their financial situation. in short, it SUCKS. and there are stories about it seemingly daily… quite a bit about the whole bus driver garbage (see, to save money the board decided to outsource that and janitorial stuff. and the drivers are convinced they’re getting hosed, when in actuality the mich. educational association is convinced they walk on water and can DEMAND that schools meet a whole list of unrealistic things - such as paying 100% for all insurance/no prescription deductibles. so when these people get back to THE REAL WORLD, it’s boohoo-ing everywhere. they’re a bunch of friggin babies.)

let’s see.. thirdly would be the fact that people my age are making me more and more sick. meaning that i’m sick of the fact that they’re becoming flat-out sleazy, a bunch of alcoholics/druggies, or that they think referring to their “friends” as stuff like b*tches is a term of endearment. (i’m sorry, but calling me things like that which is supposed to be “cute” is simply offensive to me. maybe i just have a better grasp of appropriate english language than most… i don’t know.) there’s a reason that i don’t post on any message boards anymore. it’s because i have pretty much nothing in common with people my age, and there’s only so much i can put up with.

ok, i’ve turned this post into yet another rant… which wasn’t exactly my intention. so i’ll stop writing for now… and finish it off with a good point like this:
