one busy weekend

well, hopefully things will be calming down soon. last week, i spent 2 1/2 days at work covering for a “coworker” (it’s a long story to why i put that in quotes) who was sick… in addition to my regular assignments (thank goodness it was slow, so i wasn’t swamped). friday i ended up watching the online stream of the u-m/ucla meet - yes, it wasn’t the same as being there, but i had it full screen and the video feed was amazingly clear.

saturday morning.. yikes! got up semi-early (6:45am - no, not by choice!) because i had an 8:30 oil change at toyota on the other side of GR. afterward, i wanted to run to steve & barry’s (half hour drive normally, but a few miles from the dealership) to see if they had any good UNC stuff. since they didn’t open till 10 (and it was just before 9), i killed an hour at kohl’s first. and just my luck when i got to steve & barry’s - no UNC anywhere!! ran to the mall across the street after that because express is doing a promotion where if you try on one of two styles of pants, you get $15 off any $15 purchase. free stuff? not bad… (there’s one at the mall 2 miles from my house, too… may go to that one as well soon. hey, they never set any rules against it!). figured i’d run to younkers on the way home because they’re doing a gift-with-purchase on clinique and i’m almost out of a few things. sure enough… the one thing i needed most? out of stock indefinitely there.

thank goodness, sunday was better. my mom and i went down to western for the state of MI classic (since i missed the u-m/ucla meet). michigan did well and won, in addition to tying their best team beam score in program history. ended up running to michaels on the way home so i could get some “fun fur” for the next scarf i knit… (i’m working on scarf #3 right now. i’m hooked!) got home in time for the superbore.. i mean, superbowl. i don’t know if i was just tired from the drive (which really wasn’t bad - 57 miles one way) or what, but i flat out didn’t care about the game and was desperately even trying to stay awake during it.

this week should hopefully be a little quieter. plus i have the bud shootout to look forward to on saturday! let race season begin again!!
