since i’m horrible at updating…

…i’m making myself write while i have some time right now.

summary of the last week: christmas went quite well… got some cd’s, money, a new cellphone, more stuff for my ‘future apartment’ stash and a pair of diamond stud earrings. (the earrings led my mom to mention that i should get a second hole in each ear. since i had today off, i got it done this morning… yikes. i think it would have hurt a little less if they’d have had a spring-loaded gun to do it!)

work has been busy - well, for me at least. most of the design department has been on vacation on any given day this week (and the end of last), so i did quite a bit of “designer stuff” to attempt to help production keep projects on schedule. and then there’s the rest of the programmers, who ended up having a star wars tournament on tuesday afternoon while i worked… (for the record, i could have played if i wanted to though) lol

tuesday night was my grandparents’ 60th anniversary (family) dinner. it was nice because my cousin and his family, who moved to NJ 5 years ago maybe, were here for christmas so they came as well.

i’ve also been keeping myself busy with projects outside of work. about 2 weeks ago, i set up a nightly database backup script for drew and janet’s new message board and a “web resources” page to go along with the board. this week, i set an install of WP up for jared on my server, and yesterday (well technically today too, i was putting finishing touches on at 1am) programmed a members-only area for his rescue squad’s site with php and mysql.

minor accomplishment: i wrote the last check for my corolla today… so my car will be 100% paid off when it gets cashed! :grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

hmm. what else? oh, new years plans i guess. hockey game (as is new year’s tradition) with my family and one of my dad’s coworker’s family tomorrow night, then probably coming home and just watching tv. nothing exciting, but *shrug* what i wanted to do didn’t work out so… nothing i can do about it now.

one thing i’ve decided to take up again… knitting!

here’s a thought. the wife of one of my dad’s coworkers (who’s a travel agent) suggested a few months ago that we go to phuket, thailand with marriott points (which we can get through the timeshares we own on hilton head island, sc) someday… yikes. it’s just unbelievable what happened and is going on still there…
