just a little frustrating
May 17, 2004(my goal is to update at least once a week now. let’s see how long THAT lasts. *pauses* yeah, i agree, i didn’t think too long either.)
well, i had quite the interesting weekend.
friday was quite busy at work. not necessarily a lot to do on one thing, but a little on a lot of projects - which, really, i like doing more. i don’t get too bored with one specific thing that way! things started to get REALLY chaotic at 5:15 (i usually leave the office at 5:30, but i had to try to take off a few minutes early for my grandma’s b-day dinner.) surprisingly enough, traffic didn’t totally suck and i actually only ended up being 5 minutes behind.
saturday morning when i went to check my bank balances online (friday was payday and i wanted to see if the direct-deposit was in yet), i found out the old hosting company for kr.com had run some unauthorized charges on my debit card. yeah, i was not happy to say the least (at least it wasn’t nearly as much as other people had had run from the same idiot though - long story with that). so i spent the morning at the bank, getting that card deactivated, a new one requested, and filling out paperwork to get the charge reversed. so now i have no debit card for, they said, up to 2 weeks. SLIGHT PROBLEM! IN TWO WEEKS, I’LL BE IN NYC! it better come before that, or i’ll REALLY be pissed. i have checks, my american express card, and a “strictly temporary” ATM card, but i need my debit card, dang it - i use that thing for EVERYTHING! (plus, i don’t know how places there would be about out-of-state checks, even with a license.)
yesterday, i went to my shania twain concert with my dad - and kristin, i hope you feel better, you would have loved it! :-/ the opening group - emerson drive - was really high-energy and put on a great set (sidenote: have you ever seen the fiddle part for “devil went down to georgia” played at probably 1 1/2 times the normal speed? *jaw drops* daaaannnnnggggg) and shania was awesome as well. oh, turns out that i got better tickets than i thought - we were in the 4th row, and based on speaker volume alone, you could tell. (hallelujah, i can hear again and the monster headache is GONE… lol) i still say that most grand rapidians, for concerts, are insanely boring though. what the heck is with the “sit down the whole time” stuff?! *rolling eyes*

Don’t worry about money/debit card stuff in NY. We don’t use money here, everything’s free!

Seriously though, if your hanging with me don’t sweat it. I can spot you whenever necessary.
