nyc …

edit 3/9: fine, the pic’s gone, are y’all happy now?

ok, it’s been a few days, i should probably write a little about my trip last weekend.

i had a blast.

is that good enough?

ok, maybe not.

can i leave it at “too bad, that’s all you need to know, because i don’t feel like writing”?

ok, i take that back. ;)
i flew out friday morning - both flights were pretty uneventful (minus the idiot next to me, who i swear was going to get his cellphone chucked by the flight attendant if he’d have kept talking - and in that case, i would have died laughing… lol). and i had an interesting ride to my hotel - i swear, i do not know how people in nyc have such not-destroyed cars for the way some of them drive!

i ended up getting to my hotel a little later than i was hoping, but since the flight landed on time, i figured it could have been MUCH worse (my ticket confirmation noted the whopping 20% “on time” rate for the flight). so i checked in, unpacked a little, and walked down to MSG. (oh, and so much for USAG being obsessive about making sure people with am cup tickets were the only ones getting in… lmao, whatever!)

it worked out great because i got there in time to watch all 3 sessions of podium meet. in the process, i got to meet drew, tracy, lloyd, janet and mike before/during podium meet, and then barb and ariel for a minute afterward - then a few of us went out to dinner.

saturday was quite fun, as well. since the meet didn’t start till 2:30, and doors weren’t open till 1:30 - but i was up and dressed by 9:30 - i decided to go out for a walk since it was SO nice out. i ended up going a few blocks around the hotel just to see what was there (since i had no time to wander around the day before). sidenote: macy’s is huge.

ok, back to am cup… fun stuff. beforehand, robyn, kristie and i had very unscientifically decided who we were going to cheer for. well, we ended up being wayyyyyy off for the women, and half-right for the men… lol

after the am cup, a bunch of us went down to espn zone for dinner - that was a good time as well. (it would have been cool if a ‘wings game would have been on, but i would have driven everyone crazy watching it, so i suppose it was a good thing… lol)

sunday’s flights were also uneventful, which was good because my day was just a little aggrivating… (long story)

so i am home and all is well. it was awesome getting to meet as many very cool people as i did, and i would totally go to another gymn meet like that if i had a chance! :D (dang shania concert… grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr… lol)

  2. Hey I am glad you had a great time girl. Next time, let me know if you want to get together if you ever come to NYC again?

  4. Hey Kel!
Well first of all it was really, really awesome meeting you in person after being friends all this time. I had a blast last weekend too and since I spent the most time with you, you were a huge part of that! :-) You were pretty much the same exact person that I’ve gotten to know online and that’s all I was hoping for. And your right about the weekend, everything about it was great. The getting to meet people part, seeing both competitions, the NY weather, meeting Janet and her family, really just everything! I don’t think it could have gone any better! Oh and for the record, the only person we met at Podium meet that you forgot was Mike (mav). ;-)
Well, I’ll talk to you soon, bye for now!

kelley note: edited the original post to include him, i KNEW there was someone else… thanks!

  6. Psychotic?!? I think not! Oh man, if you are supposed to be psychotic, I’d love to see what you would call those NY cab drivers! :-P
