christmas
December 26, 2003first off, i hope everyone had a great christmas.
christmas eve was typical around here. i had to work during the day, but we all left at 3 and ordered pizza and didn’t work too hard during the afternoon (the rest of the programmers were playing a game while i was finishing something… lol). then after my brother got out of work (7:30 or so), we opened family presents. my brother and i got my mom a dvd player/vcr combo so i set that up for her and we watched one of the dvd’s we got for her (the american president, which i have absolutely memorized… lol).
christmas morning, we went to my grandpa’s first for presents with him and my uncle. in the afternoon, we went out to my aunt and uncle’s for presents and dinner with mom’s side of the family.
overall, a decent day i’d say if it wasn’t for my horrible mood! :-/
edit: so i don’t have to keep posting it everywhere… here’s my list:
from my parents: a wall calendar (like every year), a small carebear (wish bear), a flashlight that hooks on my keys, and the dresser that matches my room furniture. oh, and this morning my mom got me some christmas stuff from target for “my apartment stash”: snowflake paper cups and paper plates, a peppermint striped candle, a snowflake candle, and a snowflake set of towels. and then later on they bought me a glass shelf to go on my wall for my stereo.
from my uncle: $50 and a knife (explanation: he thought he lost his - it’s basically a jackknife - so he bought a new one, and then found the first one recently… so he gave me the one he found to keep in my purse as “a tool”).
from drew (one of my ‘net friends): a beaded bracelet
from my grandparents (mom’s side): a shirt for work, and flannel sheets for my bed.
and from my grandpa (dad’s side): a clear-speaker stereo from brookstone, a jewelry box, and a necklace.
the significance of the necklace (and why if anything happens to it, i’ll lose it)?
my mom recently had her first wedding set’s diamond (no, she hasn’t been married twice - the first was white gold, and her current one is yellow gold) taken out and turned into a necklace for her. well, it turns out that my mom had my grandma’s (dad’s side, who died in 1986 from multiple sclerosis) engagement and wedding rings in her jewelry box. since hers turned out wonderfully, she had the diamond from my grandma’s turned into a necklace for me.
One Response to “christmas”
I’m sorry you’re in a horrible mood.
