site notice
November 21, 2003i went through and did the s:i cleaning process on my site today. it basically makes it correct HTML, and checks for bad links. and i found a TON of bad links.
so i went through them all, and for servers/pages that no longer exist, i’ve been getting rid of the link. this includes ALL the archives.
just FYI.

I need to put my website through one of those things! *LAUGHS* I know it’d be a mess . . . I’m so lazy when I’m coding sometimes.

yep, it had a fit with a few of my pages - the cliques, mp3 list, and blogamp (recent mp3 plays)… but it was just nice to know i didn’t have so many dead links anymore.

Do you have software that corrects bad html and flags broken links all at once? Currently I use Dreamweaver to correct the bad HTML and Xenu’s Link Sleuth to find busted links. Got a better idea?

Actually, I use 3 programs to ‘clean’ a site - CSE HTML Validator Pro for code, and then Watchfire WebQA for links. (The third is one that someone here programmed, that checks PDF references.)
